Situated half-way between Alicante, 50 miles south, and Valencia, Denia is dominated by ancient castle ruins, illuminated by night. The beautiful old town is unspoilt, and the region is steeped in history and tradition. Denia offers a thriving boat club and harbour area, with bustling cafes and fine, well priced restaurants. It has quality shopping, but retains much of its Spanish flavour, with a strong community spirit, an arts centre and gallery. Throughout the year, the town takes part in religous and cultural fiestas. Enjoy the colourful markets and rastros. Calpe Rock, Altea, and Javea are just a short drive, as is the beautiful Jalon Valley, renowned for its wine. Denia has a modern railway station, with lines to all routes along the coast.
