Mojacar is located in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountain range. The town is the most cosmopolitan on the eastern coast of Costa Almeria, and yet it has not lost its original charm, with whitewashed houses in traditional town streets. The main beach of Mojacar Playa is 4km of beautiful white sand, lined with beach bars, stylish hotels, restaurants, shops and cafes. Beyond the playa are another 10km of unspoilt beaches. Mojacar is very lively in the summer, and its bars and restaurants remain open late into the night every night. Much quieter in the winter than in the summer, the town takes on more of a country feel.
